Message from President





1957 Kyowa Sobi Co., Ltd. established in Isesaki, Gunma. Began production of interior bus parts.
1960 Established a plant separate from Kyowa Sobi Co., Ltd. specializing in the manufacture of automotive trim parts. Established Shigeru Co., Ltd., in Ota, Gunma.
Capital: 1.5 million yen
1962 Increased capital to 3.5 million yen.
1966 Increased capital to 21 million yen. Began production of automobile seats.
1967 Began production of instrument panels.
1968 Began production of soft urethane foam.
1970 Began production of common-die foam instrument panel pads.
1971 Began production of ceiling-suspended headliners.
1972 Installed various automotive testing facilities.
1976 Began production of molded headliners.
1977 Increased capital to 35 million yen. Began injection mold production. Entered into tie-up on development technology for automobile seats with RHW of Germany.
1979 Entered into tie-up on development technology for sun visors with Happich of Germany.
1980 Increased capital to 63 million yen. Completed construction of integrated office building.
1981 Increased capital to 100.8 million yen.
1983 Began operation of Ichinokura Plant.
1985 Increased capital to 126 million yen.
1986 Expanded Ichinokura Plant and installed seat cushion form molding line and seat frame production line (introduced automatic benders and welding robots). Increased capital to 157.5 million yen.
1987 Received PM Award. Established Heartland Automotive L.L.C. in the United States.
1988 Increased capital to 315 million yen. Installed automatic cutting machine (GGT). Provided technology to Tong Yang Industry and Hsiung Hwa Machinery of Taiwan.
1992 Installed extrusion molding machine for recycling.
1993 Installed 1000-ton stamping molding machine.
1995 Completed construction of instrument panel production plant. Began production of closed foam instrument panel pads.
1996 Increased capital to 450 million yen.
1997 Received ISO9001 certification.
1998 Expanded Ichinokura Plant and installed new painting facilities.
2000 Received ISO14001 certification.
2001 Constructed new building for research and development.
2003 Completed sales licensing agreement with Ishihara Plastic Industrial Co., Ltd..
Received QS9000 certification.
2004 Established Siegel Co., Ltd., in Nakatsu, Oita.
2005 Installed an independent electric power plant in Ichinokura Plant.
2006 Recieved ISO/TS16949 certification.
