Among our strength are the developmental and technical capabilities we use accurately ever-advancing needs. In product development, for which there are demands for shorter development time and greater accuracy, we have been successful in rapidly designing products that accurately meet the advanced needs of customers, including lighter weight and improved design, based on technical expertise we have accumulated since the company was established, and which we apply in our planning activities for new vehicles.
The improvements we have made in product quality have earned special praise from customers. Having installed state-of-the-art test equipment, including a 6-axle vibration-testing device and a crash simulator able to perform crash tests with actual vehicles, our Development Division actively meets the challenge of proposal-based technology development. Besides having successfully removed vinyl chloride from an olefin skin and realized an active mechanism for a reduced-whiplash seat, our Development Division has been working with our Materials Research Division to promote the development of environmentally friendly materials, including biodegradable resins.
Furthermore, through the practical application of computer-aided engineering (CAE) we are improving accuracy at the initial design stage and increasing the efficiency of development.
